PLAYER GUIDE
Learn to play backgammon
A little luck. A lot of strategy.
Move fifteen checkers around twenty-four points, bring them home, then bear them all off.
Dice and the bar
Use both dice when possible. If only one can be used, the higher value is required when playable. Doubles provide four moves. A hit checker must re-enter from the bar before other checkers move.
Bear off and doubling
Bearing off requires every checker in the home board. The doubling cube changes the round's stakes; an opponent may accept or concede. Gammon and backgammon multiply the result. Crawford disables doubling for the specified one-away round.
